SEVERAL chain whatsapp messages made their rounds alleging that the Selangor government was next to fall via the backdoor with the Azmin Ali-led Perikatan Nasional government determined to maneuver the crossovers to control all states.
Their bid to topple the Kedah government has been put on hold despite a press conference held by the state PAS leadership that followed two PKR assemblymen announcing their departure from the party to support the Perikatan Nasional coup specialists.
Umno youth executive committee blogger Papagomo was said to have also predicted the same, himself a known close ally of Azmin, also announced in his popular Facebook live shows that Selangor was due to fall this week.
After that chain whatsapp messages about an Azmin-led coup attempt to gain control of Selangor via crossovers was taking place, with the plotters seeking just 5 more assemblymen to crossover in order to form the government.
However, “a picture speaks a thousand words”, as the saying goes, six of the names mentioned in the chain whatsapp messages said to have been among those alligned to Azmin and already crossed over, today shared a group photo that turned the tables on the coup plotters.
It was a group photo with Azmin’s no.1 nemesis PKR president Anwar Ibrahim and Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari.
Seri Setia assemblyman Halimey A Bakar simply wrote, “done discussing a few matters with Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim”.
Also present were Sementa assemblywoman Daroyah Alwi, Port Klang assemblyman Azmizam Zaman Huri, Paya Jaras assemblyman Khairuddin Othman, Bukit Melawati assemblywoman Juwairiya Zulkifli, Tanjung Sepat assemblyman Borhan Aman Shah and senator Yaakob Sapari.
Though not much was said by the six assemblyman, the message seemed to be loud and clear, that a coup attempt by the Azmin camp had been foiled, at least if only in Selangor.
An AMANAH source also stated that though efforts may have been made to entice two of their assemblyman to cross over, the Pakatan Harapan coalition remains intact in Selangor, for the moment.
Having gained control of the federal government via a political coup in March, Perikatan Nasional have moved to try an secure all states under their coalition through similar political coup maneuvers.
