HEALTH Department director general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah announced today the arrival of a shipment of 50,000 Covid 19 antigen rapid test kits (RTK) from South Korea.
However, there was no mention of the brand of antigenRTKs, of which 15,000 each were distributed to Sabah and Sarawak, as well as Johor for use at the border controls, while the balance were for KLIA. And Noor Hisham added that another shipment of 100,000 antigenRTKs will arrive next week.
As per Star TV report in the link below:
Do note that as reported here earlier, the only brand of antigenRTKs on the MOH’s approved list is the SD Biosensor antigenRTK from South Korea.
As yet, no media outlet is able to ascertain whether the MOH have complied with their own recommended list, while the South Koreans remain dumbfounded as production of antigenRTKs are said to have ceased since March 1 in favour of the high global demand for antibody and PCR based test kits.
We eagerly await confirmation from any source on this matter.
